Under Construction

Crafted with loving hands
The walls no longer bare
The rooms no longer dark
The fire no longer cold
Each brings a piece of themselves to share
A hand outstretched
A quilt to share
A house does not make a home
It is the warmth from within
That binds the mortar between the stones

Hammer,nails,love and chocolate provided

I see many of you have arrived, bringing with you items that comforting and are testaments of your varied lives.

You’ve looked after our home quite well, although someone will need to clean up the Froot Loops, pillow stuffing and mango stains.

MJ, I do like the futon you have brought, and have added many DVDs to the entertainment shelves. I hope you and others enjoy them. Do not think you are ever draining; your words are held in great esteem. Perhaps you will feel more connected here in time.

I may need to think about how to answer your inquiry, I am not very sure of what to write. I thank you for asking. I am hoping that I will gain insight from all of you, and that I will be able to find answers for myself.

Elena, there is a library down the right hall and four doors down. You are welcome to browse through as many as you like. You may stay anywhere you would like in this home. I would never kick you out of the way, merely ask someone to dust around you.

Please take notice that I would have SOMEONE dust. I am afraid I’m not much of a housekeeper.

Miranth, thank you, and I stocked the library with Agatha Christie novels and other mysteries. They are in the third bookcase to the left, fourth shelf. A ladder is available if you require one.

Ergoproxy, what are dustkins? Also, your muesli, free of sultanas and currents is on order and should be here any day. I took the liberty of ordering several cases, as the offending items are being picked out by hand at the factory, and these orders take a little longer.

Original Punk J, welcome. As with Elena, your reputation precedes you. I do say that in a the best way. I have ordered your Tab, and should be here when the muesli arrives.

Original Punk L, the other half of the famed Punks. Again, I say that in the best way and welcome you. . I hope your shoulder is feeling better, and coffee is always available here.

Amyranth, pick out cereals as you wish to add to the shopping order. I should leave my credit card with one of you to purchase items as you need them. I understand that has been done in the past. Perhaps I should check on my limit…

Gnothi Seauton, thank you for the calling card. A lost art these days. I welcome you. Please make yourself at home.

Carrie, yes, you may hang your poster. The left hallway may be a good choice, or you may place it on the wall of your room.

12:39 1/26/2009 Anonymous, many more chocolates are in the pantry, and each room contains a welcome box.

Jennicula, thank you, I am glad you were not offended by my oversight. I will check into the Trader Joe’s items.
MissTottenham, it’s good to hear you are feeling better. The medicine cabinet contains may items for cold and flu if you need them in the future.

10:23 1/26/2009 Anonymous, no fancy greeting required. Welcome.

Anon616, I am guessing you have turtles? Would you like a place for them created or will they be staying in your room? I am glad to see you back; it is nice to have your bubbly personality here.

I am afraid I cannot stay to visit with you, but I will soon. I am learning

My invitations extends to anyone who wishes to come here. If any of you would like to bring a guest, or another resident, they are more than welcome. They do not have to be from any blog or site, they will know friends here.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Fuck i missed you 7. take your time in answering my questions no rush.

Thank you for the warm welcome And the DVDs. Asian horror, dramas and anime.

Oh my you have both the Korean and Japanese Boys over Flowers I think I have died and gone to blog heaven.

I feel connected to this place already people not so much right now. I find you and your words comforting thank you again.

I think this feeling has been lost from the blogs for a while. The feeling that it is alright for you to be there and say what you feel with out people coming at you for it.

Let me get back to my futon.

Thank You

Amyranth said...

*picks up the Froot Loops from the carpet*

You know, a friend of my mother's had a baby, and we went to the shower two or three weeks after she was born. There was a lady, a distant friend of one of the families, who was holding the baby who was complimenting Jolene on how pretty the baby was. Jolene thanked her, and the friend said "You know what it means, her face being so symmetrical? She's gonna have a lot of SEX!"

The party was pretty uncomfortable from then on.

ergoproxy said...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I can only imagine!

Amyranth said...

I think they took the baby away from her pretty quickly after that.

*finishes dusting*

Okay, so I heard chocolate, and it isn't Easter yet, so...

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Carrie said...

Welcome Lewis, to the world! You have a cool Aunt. Does that count as his first e-mail?

Amyranth said...

HEY!

I left for five seconds, and my mango vanished!

:*

Carrie said...

And Seven, thank you for the welcome, I will hang it in the hallway so all can enjoy its Deppliciousness.

ergoproxy said...

I think it might Carrie! and thanks :]

you might just want to step back a little from that futon, it seems hungry

Amyranth said...

*sniffs around for her mango*

Hey Carrie!

Does anyone know how to make a video to post on Youtube?

Martha Smith-Jones said...

hello everyone

*goes back to being anti social*

Carrie said...

Hey Amy! I have no clue, starting a blog and figuring out how to put pics on it exhausted all my technical know how.

Carrie said...

Hi anti-social MJ!

Amyranth said...

LOL Carrie!

*sniffs MJ*

You don't smell Anti-Social.

*twitches nose*

Martha Smith-Jones said...

no idea

ergoproxy said...

not a clue amy,
maybe in a photo program? then upload it?
you might have to ask J or L they did that one of their home, and I think Wendy has too

*passes dental floss under futon in case of mango fibres in teeth*

Amyranth said...

Ah, good point Ergo! I forgot about that, actually.

*mutters something and wanders off to find a bowl of cereal*

Carrie said...

I can never do the cool cut on the mango to turn it all out with the nifty little cubes. I just end up kinda gnawing it all the pit.

Carrie said...

left out an *off* in that.

ergoproxy said...

I do the turn out the cube one and also gnaw the rest of the pit

you know over here if you see a person with a thin face and sticky up hair you can say "he has a head like a half sucked mango seed"

Anonymous said...

So this is where everyone is at. Hey guys.

And hello to Seven, nice to meet you.

Carrie said...

Half sucked mango seed! LOL. Also, a good band name. And hey BC!

ergoproxy said...

hi BC, I'm blog hiphopping

Amyranth said...

I've actually never eaten a fresh mango before.

:3

Carrie said...

Oh dude, they bring the yum!

ergoproxy said...

GASP!!!!

you should try one! they are really nice

Amyranth said...

Well, I've had mango chicken, but that's blended mango mixed with a bunch of other things. But that's it.

And I really am the only person on this planet who likes "Single Ladies". My FB just confirmed it.

Carrie said...

No, you are not. :)

Martha Smith-Jones said...

thank you ep hello bc

Amyranth said...

Yay! There's two of us!

My best friend signed on an said "Watched the Single Ladies video today. Won't get those braincells back".

Amyranth said...

Hoya BC!

Carrie said...

We totally need to play Lexulous, or whatever the hell they call their Scrabble take off these days--that's about the only use I have for FB.

ergoproxy said...

I didn't mind it Amy, I like the line "If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it"
and boy can she move!

Amyranth said...

Ergo, I like the video because apparently, the filmed the entire thing in one take. And that dance is quite difficult, especially when you have no rhythm like I do. :P

ergoproxy said...

one take?
*applauds*

Carrie said...

BUT, did you know it was a rip off?

Carrie said...

Start here and from there it goes down the rabbit hole

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRm4evmgz4I

Although she did admit it was "inspired by," so there's that.

Amyranth said...

Carrie, I remember you showing me the video from that. Oddly enough, I read somewhere that they said some guy choreographed it..

Hum, says I.

Carrie said...

Hee, a guy choreographing all that ass shaking, who would have figgered?

Amyranth said...

Also, the other thing I found neat, being the rockhound that I am, she's wearing her actual engagement ring in the video that Jay-Z bought her. Worth around 5 million dollars, it's a 13 carat near flawless diamond. I think it's emerald cut.

You can take the girl out of the jewelery store, but you can't take the jewelery store out of the girl. :3

Amyranth said...

Carrie, I'd have never dreamed it myself. Really, I didn't think men would know what would make a woman look good on the dance floor. Ever.

*catches fire*

Oops. Sorry.

Carrie said...

Oh, I didn't know that! That's cool. My engagement ring is um, somewhere. It's a marquis cut with two amethysts on the side. I also have an anniversary ring that's a band of diamondy things. I haven't worn either in years. Rings, they are losted on me--I like it more when he doesn't laugh at my posters. :)

Carrie said...

Did that fire start in your pantz?

ergoproxy said...

what did they rip off? (don't have time to watch vids right now)

and really???? a man?????? whod'a thunk!

Amyranth said...

Carrie said...

Oh, I didn't know that! That's cool. My engagement ring is um, somewhere.

*giggles*

Excellent cap-off to my gemstone gabby Carrie. :D

And yes, the fire was in my pantz. All that ass-friction I suppose. :/

Carrie said...

Most of the dance was in an old dance routine from the 60's, choreographed by Bob Fosse. It's a really cheesy song called "Mexican Breakfast." Not to be confused with The Breakfast Monkey, mind you. :)

ergoproxy said...

must have been a good routine, but at least she said she was inspired, unlike Coldplay and Joe Satriani

Carrie said...

I totally love the idea of jewelry, Amy, I'm just not so much with the interpretation. I have one of those Pandora bracelety things with charms, and I love it, I just keep forgetting to wear it. I think it's because I'm always cleaning something.

Amyranth said...

Ergo, thankfully, it wasn't the hairstyles and outfits.

A couple of steps, some arm motions, and the general idea, but I don't think it's a step-for-step copy.

But again, not the hair or outfits. Thank Bob for that.

Carrie said...

Oh yeah, Ergo! That was kind of a total crock, in my opinion. It clearly sounded the same.

Amyranth said...

Carrie, I'm the same. I love the idea of owning jewelery, and I have some stuff... but it rarely sees the light of day.

Carrie said...

What? You don't think that vid would have been as effective in a bangin' polyester pantsuit? :)

ergoproxy said...

all my usual jewellery is simple, the rub over setting style, I find claw set just gets caught on everything
but I usually only wear it out

ergoproxy said...

I have been watching "Lost in Space" and I say "Bring back velour!"

So uh, am I close?

Carrie said...

OMG, Ergo, you made me just flash back to a fetching purple velour v-neck shirt, plaid skirt, beige corduroy blazer ensemble I had. :)

ergoproxy said...

hi no one, could be any or all I suppose! lol

Carrie said...

Good guesses, no one! I liked Ergo's "neutral" interpretation. :) Oh, by the way, Ergo, we're going with the red cabbage for science fair.

Amyranth said...

Ergo, I think I still have some velour in my closet. Somewhere towards the bottom...

Carrie... I dunno... The beehives maybe. Pantsuits may have been a little hard to dance in, with all that extra fabric in the "trip zone".

Martha and BC, goodnight!

Same to you Ergo and Carrie, but you knew that already. :D

Goodnight Seven!

Oh!

ergoproxy said...

oh cool carrie!

when is the fair? as I have another bit she can do but I'll have to email it, you will need a big tall clear glass jar, or vase, or if the school has a big measuring cylinder (science equipment)

ergoproxy said...

OOH 7 Year Itch is a great movie!

7th wave?

Carrie said...

Hah Ergo, you cursed her with nightmares!!!

Carrie said...

That's love, right, Ergo? Or at least Sting said it was, but he probably got it from someone else. :)

ergoproxy said...

yes Sting sang it but I think it's a proverb

though in oceanography the wave frequency does often mean the 7th wave is the largest (if you count it won't always be but there are other things that affect it by the beach)

Carrie said...

I loved my oceanography class in college. It was taught by the local weatherman from the news, and it was like he was "on" all the time. We used to call him "Stan, Stan, the Weatherman." behind his back, but not in a mean way.

ergoproxy said...

Oh that would be great! We had a weatherman called Ray Wilkie, he is still going and but has always seemed so old we refer to him as Ray Wrinkley, he is an awesome meteorologist, just knows everything. He was in Darwin at the Met Bureau when Cyclone Tracey struck and was talking about it saying they were tracking the wind speed until it blew it all off the roof!

Carrie said...

Ray Wrinkley, hah! Although maybe meterorology would be a good thing to go into nowadays, people are always going to have weather. As of late, I've been trying to steer Al toward mortuary science. :) Just trying to be practical and all!

Carrie said...

Speaking of being practical, I need to haul my butt to bed. Goodnight!

ergoproxy said...

ah I see you want to play scrabble!

ergoproxy said...

HI MJ!

I know I missed you, but I've enjoyed reading your words. I like that you speak your mind.

Even if I know not of what you speak, I enjoy listening!

:)

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Hello miranth

miranth said...

Hi martha,

I am glad to read your headaches are no more! (at least recently)

Can you tell me what a dalek is?

I saw a 'steampunk dalek' earlier and I was trying to figure it out.

:)

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I thought you had gone so I was off watching an episode of bleach. I can usually watch filler episodes like the one that I am currently watch but this one is just bad.

A dalek lets see how do I explain them. A garbage can with a plunger attached to it that wants to "Exterminate!" all life.

miranth said...

I answered at Mayo's too, but it seems pretty low tech to be doing all that!

I thought it was a good thing when I read the term earlier!

Are you still watching Bleach?

*listening to Electric Kingdom*

ergoproxy said...

LOL MJ I love that description of a dalek!

ergoproxy said...

dalek- bad guys in Dr Who

and I found steampunk dalek6th post down

Martha Smith-Jones said...

No, it was a really bad filler episode. I fast forwarded to to the end for the preview to next weeks episode and the Death God golden book

Martha Smith-Jones said...

wasn't sure of the spelling at the time but it should be Shinigami Golden book

miranth said...

I like the steampunk one best!

I don't know about its extermination properties, though!

MJ - I don't watch anime much :(

I do like Dish network, as I can fast-forward over boring stiff (I mean stuff!) :D and record my favorite shows when I am not even aware they are on. So awesome!

*laughing at my Freudian slip*

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I am watch bleach on line. It just aired in japan about a day ago

miranth said...

MJ - I watch movies and shows online all of the time. Older recordings are avail. as well as the newest, so its convenient.

I love my A Christie movies! and thrillers! and ghost-stuff!

Thank you, Seven! Feel free to call me 6 or Wendy. Much less wear and tear on finger tips and joints!

Catch you later.

Well Howdy Seven

It was so nice to see you stop by and I gotta say I love your new post. Yep, this place is shaping up to be a lonely home. All of us are bringing our unique touches to the place. I will spend many happy hours in the library. I am most a home surrounded by books.

I think I shall bring a lovely collection of tea cups here. Pretty sure everyone will enjoy using them. They are antique and some will question if they should be used but I've never believed in collecting beautiful things and not using and sharing them. So next time you stop by please feel free to pick a tea cup that best suits you and fill it with tea or coffee and sit a minute.

Well back to work for me. I'll return to my spot by the fire tonight. I've got another true haunting book started and I'm anxious to read by the fire.

See everyone later...

PS Ergo: All the ones Amy listed DO GO WITH PEPSI!!!!

;)

Hello No One (who is someone)!

Amyranth said...

Cheerios, especially go with Pepsi. Don't ask me how. I don't pour a bowl of Cheerios, and then add pepsi or anything, but I do eat them dry sometimes, and a glass of pepsi washes 'em down pretty quick.

*thinks for a moment*

*writes on the whiteboard*

A good Dental Plan

Martha Smith-Jones said...

We need mangos. thank you. * go back to sitting under futon*

ergoproxy said...

Hi wendy!

*sheepish* sorry about the bucket I was a bit sleepy last night

and just so you both know, I have no idea what any of those cereals are except Froot Loops and Cheerios
we must have really boring cereal compared to you guys
the only sweet stuff is froot loops and coco pops, and frosties.
everything else is sort of cereal flavoured, or honey or with dried fruit or nuts

ergoproxy said...

*slips cut mango under futon*

MJ why are you under the futon?

are your cheerios just cereal flavour or are they sweet? we only have one type with the 4 grains

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Captain Crunch people we need some of that.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Thank you ep. I am being anti social and it's like the tardis under here.

ergoproxy said...

honestly how long are the cereal isles in shops for you guys?

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Well here in Ca we don't have those monster ones GW likes.

ergoproxy said...

we have nothing even remotely like them here, they look very sugary

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I don't eat anything with marshmallows in it. I know we had them when I was growing up but I never had them.

Amyranth said...

Oooh, Captain Crunch, forgot about that.

Ergo, you've never had Lucky Charms?

I think the scientist in you would be intrigued by them.

ergoproxy said...

cereal has marshmallows in it?

Amyranth said...

Yep. And I'm sure they're genetically modified or something.

They're definitely not real marshmallows.

ergoproxy said...

I've only ever seen them talked about on TV
I can't imagine wanting to eat marshmallows in cereal, what does it taste like?

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Lucky Charms ego

Amyranth said...

They are not fluffy like real marshmallows. They're crunchy, and when you wet them with milk, they get to be a little slippery.

And they leech color into the milk.

ergoproxy said...

Amy you are not at all making them sound appetising! lol

Amyranth said...

And the cereal bits are kind of like frosted cheerios. They're supposed to be shaped like things. But I can never really tell what.

ergoproxy said...

I just googled a picture, they are all little shapes! Do they taste like fruit flavours or anything? And is the rest of it just plain?

welcome to the intrigued scientist amy!

ergoproxy said...

oh the rest is sugar frosted as well1
Do kids like, bounce off the walls after eating them?

Amyranth said...

The cereal bits taste like sugar, and the marshmallow bits taste like.. sugar.

Really, it's sugar, sprinkled with sugar, with colored bits of sugar floating in milk.

But it's damn good. Probably loaded with chemicals too though.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Do they still have chocolate Lucky Charms?

Amyranth said...

MJ, I thought I saw them, but then I always thought Count Chocula was Lucky in a different outfit.

ergoproxy said...

I am bemused!

I didn't realise how many types of cereals you guys have
I googled some and it's insane!! LOL

if I went over there I think I'd just walk about in a daze of mental overload!!

Amyranth said...

We should all chip in and ship Ergo a box of cereals.

I bet you $20 it gets stopped at the border, and confiscated.

ergoproxy said...

I don't know if it would, if it didn't have seeds or fruit in it, most processed food seems to be ok, I have had oreos, seasoning mix, cocktail mix (thanks wendy!) cheese and crackers from elena
cereal might make it through, though I don't know if I'd eat it having heard about it! LOL

Amyranth said...

LOL!!

"Okay, so this is the one with the "marshmallows" and this one has "peanut butter" flavouring in it... This one turns my beakers solid blue when I try to dissolve it in liquid, and this one blew a hole in the back door.

Okay kiddo, you're having toast for breakfast."

"But Mooooooommmm..."

Amyranth said...

Anyway Ladies, It's been good, as always. I'm gonna go snuggle my Mister for a bit though and head to bed. I have a date with the downtown train tomorrow morning!

*peeks under futon*

Martha? Is that you? When did the Dr. decide on this means of transportation? Hmmm....

Ooops! Please excuse my bad manners.

Hello (again) Seven, Ergo, Amy (now snuggling), Sweetcheeks, Martha (possibly sleeping)... everyone!

Ergo: I'm going to send you some Frosted Mini Wheats and Apple Jacks. They're healthy. Really, they are. One contains wheat (.005 percent of your daily serving) and the other contains apple (.000000000000000000000005) of your daily serving)! They both contain a lifetime supply of sugar, and, like Amy said ~ yummy chemicals!
;)

Sweetcheeks: *huge hug* I have 2 of my Finland slideshows done and posted. I have at least one more to go! How's school going? How's your arse? What did you do today? Any exciting plans for the weekend?

*adds aspirin free excedrin to shopping list*

Goodnight everyone. Sweet dreams to one and all!!!!

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~
6/Wendy

Hi Jen

Jennicula said...

Hey MJ, what's shakin' with you?

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Nothing much what's up with you jen

Jennicula said...

Not much.

Working. Shuffling papers. Blowing my nose (not on the papers).

I had a snow day yesterday. It was nice.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

we have a drought and my sinuses are stuffy

Jennicula said...

My sinuses are jammed with marbles at the moment. If you were to actually hear me speak, I'd sound like this:

Hey Bartha Jodes. What's ub?

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Lol, Mine have been giving me a hard time a lot this past month

Jennicula said...

I'm not sure if I have a cold or a sinus infection. Either way, my throat hurts, my nose is a mess, and my head hurts.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I had something similar last year but it was way worse. I thought my eyes were going to pop out of my head i had so much pressure. It wasn't a sinus infection. I don't know what it was

Jennicula said...

I remember that. You had a bunch of tests done.

They never figured out what it was?

Martha Smith-Jones said...

The test were for the headaches the sinus think came later.

The headaches turned out to be stress and a lack of sleep. I ended up quieting the job I was at and everything but my sinus got better.

Jennicula said...

Tonight I'm going to try and rinse my sinuses out. It's not much fun, but it does work.

Until then, I'm stuck with sneezing a whole lot and blowing my nose.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I rinse mine out as well. some times it helps sometimes not.

Jennicula said...

sometime snot?

hahahahha

Jennicula said...

Well, back to the grind for me.

Have a great afternoon.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Hi everyone in the seven mansion and hello to seven yourself.

How is everyone? Did the goodies shopping get done. I hope you got some nutella. It's not fair that they show the advert so often, I am drooling for it.

AND OMG how many easter eggs in the shops already. they have an easter egg mountain in the spar.

Jennicula, so sorry to hear that you are in the snotty club. *hands over tissues*

Take these tissues with balm. They are good for preventing the crusty craters. I swear by them.
